Welcome to OffbeatEurope.com!

The World is waiting... Bring along your camera and document the sites you visit in your special way. Any member can share their story about any place they have visited, following a few simple rules:

1. Title the post by a named place on the map (village, moutain, etc.) under a country*.

2. At the top, add an introductory note in English (optional, but welcomed).

3. Add your photos, telling something about the place.

4. No selfies. No person or personal item should be the main object of any photo.

5. Feel free to Include a heading "Sources" with links for further information.

6. At the end, include a heading "Map" with a link to the place on Google Maps

(To get the correct link on Google Maps, go to https://maps.google.com/ and position your view over the relevant place, and copy the IP-address appearing above.)

This is a forum for offbeat sites, meaning places outside the main stream of tourism. So you do not post a story of Paris or Rome in general. However, a less known part of the city, or a special angle e.g. "the back streets of Paris", or a new interesting museum, will qualify.

We prefer photos that are true to the surroundings, meaning that they provide information rather than being artistic, manipulated or candidate price winners. Nevertheless, all photos should be of a decent quality in terms of technique, balance and composition.

All copyrights remain with the member/photographer (you should only upload you own photos), and further use require consent by the copyright holder. We do not take responsibility for any unauthorised use by third parties.

*If your post relates to a country that is not included yet, send us a note and we will include a new country.

NOTE: The posts are restricted to members only until there is basis for general access. Norway will soon open as a pilot.

Why only Europe? Well, we need to start somewhere building content. India could be next!

Takk! Melding er sendt.
